Oslo is a really attractive city that everyone should visit. You will be surrounded with beautiful scenery from this city. It's gardens, monuments, museums and galleries are all amazing to visit. For a breath of fresh air (quite literally), Oslo is awesome. While it's not the most expensive city, I wouldn't call it cheap.
I think it's always great option to stay in an Oslo hostel. While you certainly have options for an Oslo cheap hotel, the hostels in the city are quite nice.
If you are a nature lover, this is absolutely your city. Reader's Digest ranked Oslo as the second greenest and most livable city in the whole world. The city of Oslo itself has 343 lakes and is literally covered in parks and green areas.
Oslo is a great point from which to explore the rest of Norway or even skip over to neighboring Sweden.

Seeing Norway is a way to take in some of the natural looks of beauty that Northern Europe has to give. Norway tourism's most compelling piece is the Natural fjords created by the retraction of glaciers that used to cover Norway. It’s a very dramatic yet lively experience to get to see how the world was formed. The view of the fjords is absolutely unimaginable as you can see the steep slopes of the mountains and the crisscrossing of the seas of Norway. Norway is located at the northern edge of Europe and lets you have a real traveling experience that will always be truly exclusive. For many people, viewing the fjords is a reason to visit Norway, however you won't want to miss out on checking out North Cape’s midnight sun. If you still haven’t had enough at that point, then the unique city of Tromso, which is found above the Arctic circle, is a site you need to visit to have an extraordinary vacation. Tromso is special because in the winter there is only night and in the middle of summer it’s always day time. Oslo is the capital city of the country of Norway and is also the major financial center. The picturesque destination is a gateway to the oil industry of Norway. Norway has a lower population density than most countries; however this allows you to experience some unusual things like an urban area being situated with the largest glacier in Europe.

Norway is filled with amazing natural scenery well worth visiting. It is places like this which give you that ultimate pleasure you are seeking as a tourist. The countries greatest assets are its abundance of natural, ancient and modern assets. The jagged coastline leads you to world's famous fjords in Norway. You will have to see the 22,000 kilometer long dramatic coastline, the magnificent glaciers and several islands with the utmost beauty. Obviously, it is difficult for anyone to ignore the beautiful scenery once he sets foot into this breathtaking country. And do not worry about the accommodations as the hotels in Norway are quite fabulous.
Norway has great boutique hotels where you can enjoy luxury and relish the warm hospitality from the staff and the friendly locals. Of course you can find in Oslo, cheap hotels which will still be nicer than most cities above average hotels.
